Cuidados preventivos com a saúde dos nossos pets é fundamental para que eles tenham qualidade de vida, bem-estar e longevidade. Por isso algumas medidas básicas são importantes para que a saúde deles esteja sempre OK e com proteção para doenças sérias, que podem levar à morte, mas são fáceis de evitar. Além de um bom checkup preventivo realizado idealmente a cada 6 meses, é importante que o tutor vacine seu pet e entenda a função de cada vacina. Para isso, nesse post, vamos explicar a diferença das vacinas V8 e V10. Você sabe?

Vacinas para cachorro

A vacinação de pets e humanos têm a mesma função: criar anticorpos no organismo com o intuito de preparar o corpo para combater uma invasão que gera riscos, como de uma bactéria, vírus, protozoário, etc. Entre as principais vacinas para cachorro nós temos:

  • Gripe Canina, que protege o animal contra o vírus da gripe, lembrando que a gripe em cachorros é grave e também pode matar.
  • Giardia, uma vacina com 50% de eficiência, mas que ajuda a proteger ou amenizar os efeitos da doença.
  • Antirrábica, que protege contra a raiva, que é uma zoonose (transmissível para humanos) perigosa e que mata em poucos dias.
  • V8 ou V10, são vacinas polivalentes, super importante para proteger o cão de muitas doenças.

As duas últimas são essenciais na carteira de vacinação do seu pet. Enquanto as duas primeiras são um pouco mais opcionais. Mas além delas há outras vacinas como leishmaniose e leptospirose. Em cada região do país o médico veterinário vai indicar as vacinas ideais considerando as regiões endêmicas de cada país e a rotina de cada pet. Por isso é fundamental ouvir e atender as recomendações do seu veterinário de confiança.

Vacinas para cachorro filhote

Ainda filhote, o cão precisa ser examinado pelo veterinário e receber a primeira vacinação que, a depender do tipo de vacina, pode ter 1, 2 ou 3 doses. Cada dose das vacinas para cachorro tem o objetivo de reforçar a imunidade do pet para aquelas doenças. É como se a cada  vacinação o organismo tivesse a oportunidade de treinar o combate à doença, estando altamente preparado sempre para um possível ataque. E, após a vacinação do filhote, o reforço anual é importante para manter o estoque de defesa do cachorro sempre em alto nível.

É como um atleta: por melhor que ele seja, ele precisa treinar sempre para estar em alta performance. Isso porque se ele para, por mais que saiba a técnica o organismo já não responde a alta performance. O mesmo acontece com o organismo: por mais que ele já tenha sido vacinado e conheça o invasor, se ele não treinar com regularidade no reforço anual, ele perde performance com o tempo e não estará tão preparado para um possível ataque.

Vacinas polivalente: o que é

Mas o que é a tal da vacina polivalente? Como ela pode combater várias doenças ao mesmo tempo? Bem, as vacinas polivalentes são essenciais para a imunização e saúde preventiva do animal. O poder dela é tão grande que, sozinha, é capaz de combater 7 doenças graves que podem matar seu cachorro, são elas:

  • Cinomose
  • Parvovirose
  • Coronavirose
  • Adenovirose
  • Parainfluenza
  • Hepatite infecciosa e
  • Leptospirose

Por isso, todo cachorro deve ser vacinado com vacinas polivalentes, desde filhote até a fase adulta. Sendo que na fase filhote, as vacinas polivalentes exigem 3 doses, para garantir a imunização eficaz. Para isso, a recomendação dos veterinário é:

  • Primeira dose com 60 dias de vida.
  • A segunda dose deve acontecer 21 dias depois.
  • A terceira e última dose deve ser administrada assim que o pet completar 16 semanas, ou 4 meses.

Lembrando que até completar o quadro de vacinação e reforços, não se recomenda passeios nas ruas ao cachorro, bem como que vá ao pet shop ou tenha contato com outros animais que não se conhece a saúde. Isso porque seu organismo ainda está vulnerável e qualquer invasor pode causar riscos à saúde dele. O recomendado pelos veterinários é que os passeios e contato com animais seja iniciado a partir de 15 dias após a última dose de vacinas.

Ok, mas qual vacina polivalente devo aplicar no meu filhote e qual a diferença das vacinas V8 e V10? Vamos entender isso agora!

Vacina V8

A V8 é uma das vacinas polivalentes disponíveis no Brasil, com alta eficácia e fabricação nacional e importante. Contudo é comum os veterinários indicarem a aplicação da vacina importada, por ter maior qualidade. Ela protege contra as 7 doenças graves mencionadas e tem um preço mais acessível do que a V10.

A característica que faz a V8 ter essa nomenclatura e que também influencia no seu preço é o fato de ela proteger o pet com 2 antígenos para o combate à leptospirose. Então 7 doenças, sendo 2 antígenos para a mesma doença, somando 8 proteção dentro de uma única vacina. E por ser uma única vacina com multiproteção, ela ganhou o nome de polivalente.

Vacina V10

E a V10? Qual será a diferença das vacinas V8 e V10?

A V10 protege o cachorro contra as mesmas 7 doenças e também tem opção de fabricação nacional e importada, sendo a importada mais recomendada pelos veterinários. Mas seu investimento é um pouco maior do que a V8 devido a abrangência da proteção oferecida. Isso porque enquanto a V8 protege o pet com 2 antígenos contra a bactéria Leptospira app, a V10 possui 4 antígenos, sendo mais completa em proteção.

Mas algumas coisas precisam ditas para que se entenda melhor o cenário da Leptospirose e da proteção contra a bactéria:

  • A V8 protege contra os 2 sorovares que predominam no Brasil. Por isso, ela é altamente eficaz e não há nada que diminua essa vacina.
  • A V10 protege nossos cachorros contra 4 desses sorovares, sendo 2 iguais a V8.
  • Ainda há outras vacinas, como a V12 apenas com fabricação nacional e proteção com 7 antígenos; e a V14 com ainda mais proteção, porém não disponível em território brasileiro.
  • Existem mais de 250 tipos de antígenos no mundo para combater a bactéria da Leptospirose. Porém, não há a necessidade de uma vacina agrupar todos eles! Pois cada antígeno combate uma versão dessa bactéria presente em uma região do mundo. Então precisamos buscar as proteção dos locais onde nosso pet vive, certo?
