Vacinas para Gatos

Assim que nosso gatinho chega em casa quando filhote, a primeira informação que devemos procurar saber é se ele está com as vacinas para gatos em dia. Isto é essencial, pois é a melhor maneira para evitar que nosso gatinho fique doente ou até mesmo venha a óbito. Mas se você possui um gatinho adulto ou idoso e ele nunca tomou nenhuma vacina, fique tranquilo, sempre é tempo para começar as vacinações. O ideal é que consulte um veterinário para saber o melhor protocolo para o seu pet.

Vacinas para gatos

Agora que sabemos que a vacinação é importante, não importa a fase da vida do seu gatinho, vamos conhecer melhor quando é a hora ideal para começar a vacinação?

O ideal é manter as datas corretas da aplicação da vacina. As primeiras vacinas para gatos ocorrem quando ele tem em torno dos 60 dias de vida. A primeira vacina é a múltipla e ela protege o nosso amigo contra múltiplas doenças felinas. Esta vacina é mais popular como V3 ou V4, a diferença entre elas, explicaremos em breve aqui no post. Após a primeira dose, é necessário realizar mais duas doses de reforço, cada uma após 21 a 30 dias. E então, aos 4 meses o gatinho já pode tomar a vacina antirrábica. Além disso, é importante saber que estas vacinas devem ser repetidas anualmente para manter a saúde do seu gatinho sempre em dia longe de doenças. 

Quando começamos a falar sobre a diferença das vacinas, isso muitas vezes se torna extremamente complicado para o tutor. Por isso resolvemos explicar de maneira fácil para que vocês entendam. Afinal, as vacinas múltiplas para gatos auxiliam a proteger contra as principais doenças que acometem os gatinhos e que são consideradas transmissíveis entre eles. 

V3 x V4

Atualmente possuímos três tipos de vacinas que podemos aplicar nos peludos, a V3, V4 e a V5. Então, de forma simples, o número a frente do V é o que determina a quantidade de doenças que essa vacina vai proteger. Vamos explicar melhor sobre cada uma delas. 

  • V3: protege contra Calicivirose, Panleucopenia Felina e a Rinotraqueíte;
  • V4: protege contra as três doenças da V3 mais a Clamidiose;
  • V5: protege contra as quatro doenças da V4 mais a Leucemia Felina (FeLV);

Estas são as principais diferenças entre essas vacinas. Porém, é importante saber o que é cada doença.

Rinotraqueíte:

É uma doença altamente infecciosa, seus principais sintomas são espirros, secreção nasal, conjuntivite, febre, perda de apetite e salivação. Esta doença é causada pelo herpes vírus e pode levar os filhotes ou animais com imunidade comprometida a óbito.

Calicivirose:

Possui sintomas extremamente parecidos com a Rinotraqueíte. Entretanto, ela também pode causar úlceras na boca do gato.

Panleucopenia Felina: 

É transmitida a partir do contato de objetos contaminados ou animais doentes. Seus principais sintomas são: inapetência, diarreia, vômitos e febre. Esta doença pode ocasionar problemas na coordenação motora de filhotes e o seu diagnóstico pode ser feito por exame de PCR.

Clamidiose:

Afeta principalmente o olho, causando conjuntivite e o pulmão, causando corrimento nasal, dificuldade respiratória, podendo evoluir para pneumonia. Além disso, é uma doença altamente contagiosa.

Leucemia Felina (FeLV):

Uma das doenças que os tutores de gatos mais procuram evitar, pois ela afeta diretamente o sistema imunológico causando assim diversos problemas de saúde. Os principais sintomas são: dificuldade de cicatrização, doenças de pele frequentes e desnutrição. A forma que o gatinho se contamina é a partir do contato com urina, saliva ou fezes de animais contaminados. Sendo assim a contaminação ocorre de forma fácil.

A V5 é sem dúvidas a melhor vacina para se aplicar nos gatinhos, porém, é necessário que o pet realize um exame prévio para ver se não é portador de FeLV, pois não poderá tomar esta vacina se for.

Para diagnostíco de FeLV é possível fazer um PCR para FeLV ou um Painel Fiv/FeLV também com base em PCR.

Vacina antirrábica

Esta é sem dúvida a vacina mais importante que seu gato precisa tomar. Ela faz parte das vacinas para gatos obrigatórias por lei e precisa fazer parte igualmente do esquema vacinal do seu pet. Isso porque é uma doença altamente infecciosa e letal. Além disso, trata-se de uma zoonose, sendo assim transmitida para animais e para as pessoas e não possui cura. Seus principais sintomas são: alteração de comportamento, agressividade, falta de apetite, fotofobia (medo de luz), hidrofobia (medo de água) e perda de peso.

Deve-se iniciar o protocolo desta vacina a partir dos 4 meses, para evitar a doença e o óbito do seu pet. E não esqueça: é uma vacina que necessita ser reaplicada anualmente junto da vacina múltipla.

Cuidados pós vacinas para gatos

Sempre após as vacinas para gatos, o ideal é tomar alguns cuidados para a saúde e bem estar do seu amigo. Alguns cuidados essenciais são:

  • Avaliar se ele não ficará dolorido;
  • Ver se ele não tem nenhuma reação anormal;
  • Seu gatinho precisa cumprir o prazo vacinal antes de poder passear ou ter contato com outros gatos; 

Mesmo não sendo frequente, uma das reações que o gatinho pode ter são coceiras no corpo, dificuldades respiratórias, incoordenação motora e vômitos. Caso isso ocorra procure o veterinário imediatamente e sempre o  mantenha informado de como seu gatinho está após a vacina.
